Dr Lisa Cooper
“I might look too much at the poetics of life." – Dr Lisa Cooper
Artist, author and floral designer Dr Lisa Cooper has spent a lifetime exploring The Flowers — and what they can teach us about love, loss, beauty and being human.
In this deeply personal conversation, Lisa joins Three Food Memories to talk about writing her book The Flowers, the adventures that have taken her around the world, and the loss of her father and grandfather. She also reflects on her own journey of self-discovery, finding the courage to understand who she truly is, and ultimately finding the love of her life.
From monumental floral installations to the flowers we reach for in our happiest and saddest moments, Lisa reminds us that The Flowers have a way of holding our memories — and sometimes, telling us exactly what we need to know.
Lisa’s social cause is Transcend Australia, an organisation supporting trans, gender diverse and non-binary young people and their families. Their work provides information, peer support and community for families navigating the questions, complexity and vulnerability that can come with a young person affirming their gender.
