Dilruk Jayasinha
Comedian
On this episode you'll meet comedian and former accountant cum heart attack survivor Dilruk Jayasinha.
Over the 15 years since his first stand-up, this Sri Lankan born Aussie has become one of the country's most sought-after comedians.
Since his first stand up, this Sri Lankan Australian has become one of countries most sought-after comedian staring headfirst in festivals like the Melbourne International Comedy Festival—and regularly touring both domestically and internationally to sellout shows.
He first came to Australia in 2004 as a 19-year-old from Sri Lanka, chasing a career in accounting. After years of crunching numbers, a single open mic night changed everything. His natural stage presence and sharp witquickly outshone spreadsheets, and what began as a side hustle turned into a full-blown career detour one that led him from auditor to award-winning comic.
On the menu is: Sri Lankan Maccas, the concoction formerly known as Beroffee (ooh I reckon you can figure out what this is made of), and mum's parathas.
Dilruk's social cause is “Shake it up Australia” Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
